RTW Trip Day #65: Khlong Khong Beach, the Best Beach for Kids in Koh Lanta

After our early morning wake up to go see the elephants yesterday, we had a lazy morning before heading to Khlong Khong beach in the afternoon, as it is the best beach for kids in Koh Lanta.
We spent the afternoon at Koala Bar relaxing on the bean bags under the shade of a tree and it was wonderful!
The sand is incredibly soft and the great thing about Khlong Khong Beach is the gentle slope into the sea, makes it perfect for kids.
We took the kids swimming and could walk quite far out while still touching the bottom.
The water was much calmer than Relax Bay and the kids enjoyed getting out into the sea and jumping over the waves.
You might think an Australian bar wouldn’t be your first choice for dinner in Thailand, but Koala Bar had a great mix of western and Thai dishes, plus a kids menu which is pretty rare in Thailand (and Asia in general).
I had a papaya salad earlier in the afternoon and the pizzas were fantastic too. They even put out some toys so the kids could play in the sand while we ate dinner right on the beach.
It was a wonderful final night in Koh Lanta!
