We had planned to visit the Langkawi Cable Car and Underwater World today, but Jessica woke up not feeling well again, so we decided another relaxing morning by the pool was probably a good idea.
After all, we haven’t had many days to simply unwind, and with the sun shining, it seemed like the perfect chance to make the most of it.
Enjoying the Resort and Pool!

We hit up the hotel breakfast buffet again this morning, and it was just as fantastic as yesterday. I even discovered a whole new section I’d completely missed before where they serve Indian curry! When in Rome…
After breakfast, Susie spent some time FaceTiming with a friend back home, but only after shooing a monkey off our balcony!

While she was chatting, I took the opportunity to wander around the hotel grounds and snap some photos. It’s a huge complex, with three main pools, a spa, recreation area, tennis and squash courts, and of course, the beach. Here are some photos.

Kuah Eagle Square and Satay Chicken Dinner

We had our free drink at the hotel bar, which was lovely, and then walked to Kuah Eagle Square, to see the massive eagle sculpture.

The sun was setting as we got there so it was nice to see the sun go down, plus we got to see some monkeys playing in the trees.

The eagle statue was pretty impressive and much bigger than I expected. It’s 12 metres tall, and was built to represent the island’s name and welcomes visitors arriving at the port in Kuah. There is a kids train that you can ride that is all lit up, but it was 10 MYR per person so we decided to give it a miss.

Afterwards we caught a taxi into Kuah to find somewhere to eat. We were expecting a bit more, but many of the restaurants were closed and the ones that were open didn’t look great, so we wandered around aimlessly for a while, which was a bit frustrating.

Eventually, we came across a small restaurant selling satay chicken, which turned out to be really good. Everyone enjoyed the chicken skewers, and we added sides of rice and fries, plus drinks, and it only cost around $15.
Tomorrow we’re planning to head to the other side of the island to take the cable car up to the Sky Bridge, and then visit Underwater World - if everyone’s feeling better.
