RTW Trip Day #99: Catching the Ferry to Waiheke Island

We set off this morning for a two-hour drive to Half Moon Bay, where our ferry to Waiheke Island departed. The crossing took about an hour, and we spent the entire time on the sun deck soaking in the stunning views.

After picking up some groceries, we headed to our Airbnb close to Palm Beach - and wow, what a place! It’s an absolutely gorgeous house. This was a surprise from Uncle Michael, so we had no idea what to expect. To say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement!

The home is spotless, with modern furnishings, an amazing kitchen, and outside there’s a beautiful pool overlooking Palm Beach. The views are simply incredible.

We spent the afternoon relaxing and playing in the pool, and the girls enjoyed playing with some toys in the back room and making forts with the furniture!

For dinner, we grabbed takeout pizza and watched the final Lord of the Rings movie. Both girls have loved the series, and it was extra special seeing Hobbiton on the big screen after visiting it in person.
