This morning was an early start as we had to catch an Uber to the airport for our flight to Queenstown, New Zealand, and to meet up with Susie's brother Michael that lives there.
More Flight Delays
We had planned to spend some time in the lounge and grab some food before boarding, but unfortunately things didn’t exactly go to plan. The Virgin bag drop machines weren’t working properly, and it took almost two hours to get through security, which meant we had to run to catch our flight.
To make matters worse, when we went to order food on board, the ham and cheese toasties were sold out, which was all the girls wanted to eat. A total sh*t show!
Arriving in Queenstown

Finally, though, we landed in Queenstown, and it was amazing to be picked up by Susie’s brother and not have to worry about catching a taxi to a hotel. Michael had bought the girls some gifts as a welcome to New Zealand present, and Evelyn started reading straight away!

The weather was lovely, with barely a cloud in the sky, so after checking into our accommodation, we headed straight into Queenstown to grab some dinner and take a walk by Lake Wakatipu.

For dinner, we wanted quick and easy, so we grabbed a pizza at Sal’s, which is apparently big here in New Zealand - and the pizzas certainly were, at 18 inches!

Afterwards, we wandered down to the lake and the girls played on the playground equipment, and it was really nice to have someone on hand to just take the kids to play while me and Susie could just sit and admire the lake!
