This morning we caught a flight from Bangkok down to Koh Lanta. It was nice having some help at the airport and my parents took the girls to McDonald’s for breakfast while Susie and I relaxed in the airline lounge. I could get used to this!

We had pre booked our transport to the hotel with Mun Lanta. They met us at the airport and since our parents were joining us it made sense financially to get a private van. There was plenty of space for all of us and our baggage and the ride was pretty comfortable.

The total cost was 2400 baht including all tolls and the ferry crossing fee, which seemed cheaper than lots of other places we had seen advertising.

The ferry crossing only takes about ten minutes, and you can stay in your car or head up to the top deck where there is a small viewing platform.

Once off the ferry it took about twenty minutes to reach the area of Koh Lanta where Villa Lila is located. At check in we were greeted by a gorgeous golden retriever called Buster, which absolutely made the girls' day!

The villa is beautiful and has lovely views over the pool and gardens with the ocean in the distance. We’ll definitely enjoy staying here for the next seven nights!
