Today was an intentional rest day, as we were conscious that we didn't want to burn the kids out with 'templeitis', so we spent the morning relaxing at the hotel, playing in the pool, and doing some homeschooling.
Angkor Wat Putt

In the afternoon we caught a tuk tuk to Angkor Wat Putt, which is a 14-hole mini golf course just outside the centre of Siem Reap. It’s a fun course as each hole is designed around a miniature version of one of the Angkor temples.

The course is outdoors but it is shaded by trees, so it wasn’t too hot even in the middle of the day. There’s a relaxed, local feel to the place, and the owner was really friendly, chatting to us about where we were from.
You can buy drinks and ice cream, and they also have a policy of giving a free drink if you get a hole in one (we got three in total)!

We even had a game of darts at the end which the girls haven’t really tried before so that was fun too!

If you’re looking for something easy and fun to do as a family after a morning exploring the temples, Angkor Wat Putt is a great option.

Hotel Room Upgrade and Pool Party
After we complained to the hotel about the loud pool party the day before, especially after learning it was scheduled to go on for three days, they upgraded us to a suite. It just goes to show that it’s worth speaking up when something isn’t right, especially at larger hotels.
It means we now have a separate room for ourselves while the kids have their own space with a bed each, which feels like a real luxury on this trip!
It seems like the pool party has been toned down a bit during the afternoon and only gets louder in the evening. As much as I wasn’t a fan of the music, the girls had a great time, especially with the 360 selfie booth the hotel had set up!
