Our flight to Hong Kong was at 5pm, so we just had the morning to do some exploring. Ever since we decided to visit Osaka, I’d wanted to visit Osaka Castle, as it’s such an iconic and imposing symbol in Osaka.
Osaka Castle

It certainly didn’t disappoint! We didn’t go inside the castle itself, but you can cross the bridge over the moat and walk into the castle grounds for free and walk right up to the huge stone walls at the base of the castle. You can even touch it!

There are so many great viewpoints, but by far our favourite (probably of the whole trip) was from the Japanese garden within the grounds. I mean, just look at that view!

We only spent an hour or so at the castle, then headed back to the hotel, checked out, and made our way to the airport for our flight to Hong Kong.
We’ve absolutely love Japan - we’ll definitely be back, but we are all looking forward to visiting Hong Kong again after 15 years, and showing the girls where Susie was born!
The JW Marriott, Hong Kong
After landing in Hong Kong, we caught the train to Hong Kong station and decided to get a taxi as it was around 10.30 at night. It was only around $20 so not too bad. When we arrived at the JW Marriott we were pretty blown away by the view from the lobby!

The view from the room wasn't too bad either!
